About The Position

This is an Open to fill recruitment for On-Call Medical Assistant positions at Integrated Health Clinics across multiple locations in Portland, OR and Gresham, OR. These positions will work up to 20 hours per week. Uncertified Medical Assistants will start 3% below the beginning wage listed. The Medical Assistant provides clinical support to the patient care team, focusing on disease prevention and health promotion. This role is part of a care delivery team working closely with physicians, mid-level providers, and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
  • Certification through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification program (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or CCMA) is required. Candidates hired will be expected to become certified after hire if uncertified.
  • CPR certification is required (valid CPR certification must be provided upon hire).
  • Depending upon assignment, candidates may be required to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
  • An application/resume demonstrating you meet the minimum qualifications.
  • Copy of Medical Assistant Certification (if you have one) or copy of certificate of completion from a Medical Assistant program (if uncertified).
  • Valid CPR certification must be provided upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient follow-up (i.e.: after visit instructions, setting appointments, patient education, communicate normal lab results and reminder phone calls)
  • Support back office clinic flow and time management for providers.
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures.
  • Review immunizations, forecast and administer immunizations for clients of all ages.
  • Perform medical treatments such as simple wound care, ear irrigations, suture removal and fluoride treatments.
  • Ensure the exam room is stocked, cleaned and ready for use.
  • Provide back-up lab duties including phlebotomy and processing labs.
  • Complete assigned Quality Control/Assurance activities
  • Provide back-up to the preventative MA.
