As an On-Call Kitchen Aide, you'll play an important role in supporting our kitchen operations by filling in as needed and helping our dedicated Food Services Team serve nutritious meals to community members in need. This flexible position is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference while supporting some of Kitsap County's most vulnerable populations. Kitsap Community Resources kitchen staff help prepare meals for the children in Head Start, Meals on Wheels for the senior population, Naval Daycares and a few Senior Citizen Centers daily. This position is responsible for all aspects of meal service including food preparation, food quality and quantity, storage, sanitation, dishwashing and service to a variety of customers. This position requires doing a variety of duties including but not limited to assisting the cooks, food preparation, food packaging, food quality and quantity, storage, sanitation, all dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, general cleaning duties, organization of freight deliveries, inventory, and daily meal deliveries. After a 2-week training period, the On Call Kitchen Aide will be called on short notice to cover shifts starting as early as 4:30am and ending as late as 3:30pm Monday- Friday.
