About The Position

Banquet Servers serve all catered food and beverage items to guests during private events in a timely, friendly, enthusiastic and professional manner. Additionally, an individual in this position ensures that the station and table set ups are complete and meet departmental standards prior to service.

Requirements

High school Diploma or equivalent education.
Prior service experience preferably in a banquet setting.
Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Neat and clean appearance.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to compute basic arithmetic.
Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work nights weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Certification in alcohol awareness program (BASSET) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Completes all opening, closing and running side work.
Attends all pre-shift meetings.
Serves guests' orders promptly and according to established standards, policies and procedures.
Clears tables and return all equipment to their respective areas.
Retrieves all reusable food items and place them on a separate queen.
Ensures that all spills and breakage are attended to immediately.
Informs manager or captain of any problems or complaints from guests.
Checks food before service to guests to be certain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct.
Maintains a complete an up-to-date knowledge of all menu items, daily additions and beverages offered. (ingredients and preparation).
Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
Follows hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
Understands applicable emergency procedure and evacuation protocol.
Performs related duties as assigned.
