Under the direction and supervision of the Division Chief of Training, the instructor will conduct training programs for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) clinicians within Harford County Department of Emergency Services and Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association members. The courses provided will meet the current best practices in EMS and adhere to the Maryland Medical Protocols for Emergency Medical Services Providers; and meet the requirements of fire and rescue courses specified through the MFRI/Harford County Academy Status agreement. The employee may additionally conduct CPR, First Aid and bleeding control programs for County employees; and American Heart Association CPR, ACLS, and PALS course. BUDGETED SALARY: $30/HOUR Essential Duties: The On-Call EMS Training clinician position will support Harford County DES Training Personnel to provide initial Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Initial Firefighter I, Emergency Vehicle Operator, Hazard Material Awareness, Hazard Materials Operations, continuing education (CE), and annual recertification courses to Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Fire Service, Cardiac Rescue Technician (CRT). Job Duties include but are not limited to: Lead or support instructor for initial EMT courses; or Lead or support instructor for complete EMT refreshers; or Lead or support instructor for EMT Skills courses; or Lead or support instructor of Fire/Rescue courses; or Lead or support instructor for CE courses at EMT, CRT and Paramedic level; or Lead or support instructor for CPR, First Aid, or bleeding control programs; May assist with course development; May instruct AHA courses, if certified; Other duties as assigned.
