About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning floors and other interior surfaces, vacuuming and shampooing rugs, dusting furniture and fixtures, cleaning windows and glass, washing or spot-cleaning walls, cleaning and restocking bathrooms, collecting and disposing of trash, and performing periodic high dusting and polishing. The Cleaner may also sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed. Other duties may be assigned.

The role requires the ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team. Cleaners use cleaning tools and equipment, including a backpack-style portable vacuum, and are expected to demonstrate attention to detail, pride in excellent service, organization, energy, and endurance.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, energy, and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean them daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, inside and outside.
• Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate on a daily basis.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily; clean glass, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves and stall partitions, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor for possible defects, such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
