About The Position
The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals providing remote, on-demand support for legal projects. They are currently interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Ohio Plaintiff's Employment Law Attorney. This is a remote position with variable hours, expected to be approximately 10+ hours per week.
Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Ohio
- Located near Canton, Ohio (Cleveland and Columbus area candidates will also be considered)
- Minimum of 5+ years of plaintiff-side employment law experience
- Comfortable handling both in-person coverage and back-end legal support
- Experience with wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and other employment-related claims
- Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
- Self-starter who can work independently
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person coverage for hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings as needed
- Assist with plaintiff-side employment law matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour claims
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other employment law documents
- Review case files and assist with case strategy
- Provide back-end litigation support and help move cases forward efficiently
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff on active employment litigation matters
