Our team in Space & Defense is looking for an Offshore Manufacturing Engineer to join them. You will report to the Offshore Value Stream Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field OR Bachelor's degree with relative work experience in a manufacturing environment OR an associate degree with 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Must be willing to travel approximately up to 50% of the time internationally.
  • Experience in communicating with internal and external customers, coworkers, and other business disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-starter as an individual and function efficiently in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with lean principles and Six Sigma
  • Experience with an electro-mechanical or magnetic background
  • Conversationally bilingual in English and Spanish to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and be culturally aware to support global operations and effectively collaborate with diverse teams and international clients.
  • Be the support to the Motor/Resolver production lines and Outsource Vendors.
  • Oversee the manufacturing process development with a domestic and international team.
  • Review drawings, order and support manufacturing tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layout, quotes and continuous improvement.
  • Review and respond to request for quotes on new orders.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and offer improvement suggestions for manufacturability.
  • Enforce and follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as they apply such as ITAR
  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports to leadership on operational performance, schedule attainment, spending, and capital expenditure requests.
  • Support technical exchange discussions with suppliers and Moog.
  • Cross-train to help in other areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
