About The Position

IPT Global is seeking a field-tested individual with a strong understanding of rig operations and BOP compliance to join their team. The Offshore Field Specialist will be responsible for setting up, running, and troubleshooting IPT Global's SureTec platform for pressure testing, equipment health monitoring, and compliance offshore. This role involves verifying BOP compliance throughout the equipment lifecycle, ensuring systems meet various industry standards and regional regulations, and supporting customers during inspections and audits. The specialist will act as a go-to expert for rig crews, train personnel, and collaborate with the 24/7 real-time monitoring team. Feedback from the field will directly influence product development.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of BOP compliance requirements, including API Standard 53, and experience with regional regulatory
  • Experience reviewing BOP maintenance, inspection, or certification records
  • Demonstrable offshore or rig-based experience in a role such as subsea tech, BOP tech, driller, assistant driller, toolpusher, well test operator, or similar.
  • Hands-on knowledge of BOP and well control equipment and pressure testing.
  • The ability to communicate with everyone from the floorhand to the company man.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current or obtainable BOSIET/HUET, TWIC, and passport.

  • A degree is not required. We value rig experience as much as classroom training.

Responsibilities

  • Go offshore domestic and internationally to set up, run, and troubleshoot SureTec for pressure testing, equipment health monitoring and compliance.
  • Verify BOP compliance across the full equipment lifecycle, including pressure and function testing, inspection and maintenance records, component certifications, and recertification intervals.
  • Confirm BOP systems meet operator requirements, API Standard 53, API Spec 16A/16D, and regional regulations, including BSEE (US Gulf of Mexico), Havtil/NORSOK D-010 (Norway), and ANP (Brazil).
  • Review test results and equipment data in real time, and flag leaks, anomalies, overdue maintenance, or out-of-spec components before operations move forward.
  • Use SureTec equipment health monitoring to track BOP condition and component history, and identify compliance gaps before they become findings.
  • Ensure all BOP records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready for regulators, operators, and drilling contractors.
  • Support customers during regulatory inspections, third-party verifications, and internal audits by walking through records and explaining how compliance was demonstrated.
  • Help rig teams understand changing regulatory requirements across regions and how SureTec helps them stay ahead.
  • Act as the go-to expert for the crew, walking them through results, answering questions, and keeping the job moving.
  • Train rig personnel and help new customers get comfortable with SureTec.
  • Work with our 24/7 real-time monitoring team to support operations around the clock.
  • Report field observations to contribute to product improvement.
  • Lead by example on safety.
