About The Position

As an Offset Press Operator, your primary responsibility is to operate and maintain an offset printing press to produce high quality printed materials. This role requires prior experience with offset printing, including setting up plates, adjusting ink, and monitoring print quality throughout production runs. Candidates without previous offset printing experience will not be considered, as the position demands a strong understanding of the equipment, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to ensure consistent, efficient output. Speedy CPS has 17 locations in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with offset printing, including setting up plates, adjusting ink, and monitoring print quality throughout production runs.
  • Strong understanding of the equipment, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to ensure consistent, efficient output.
  • Basic mathematical skills i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide
  • Able to lift up to 50lb with assistance.
  • Familiarity with Windows based software.
  • Read and interpret work orders
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Great communication with other team members
  • Work effectively under time constraints.
  • Is a person that is responsible for their own performance and output.
  • Has a good attendance track record and is very reliable.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to learn and interpret information from visual cues for troubleshooting purposes.
  • An understanding of process color printing and color theory.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain offset printing equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Take an active role in quality control.
  • Operates equipment and machinery used for processes that flows to multiple departments and task areas.
  • May do setups, adjustments and cleanups.
  • At higher levels may include equipment with multiple inline processes.
  • Operates equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Reads and interprets work orders, blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.
  • Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, within quality guidelines and in a timely fashion.
  • May have to complete formal training in area of specialty with no to minimal prior experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Be able to read job tickets, help process jobs and understand functions before and after the bindery department.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
