About The Position

J. R. Cole Industries’ Carton Division is seeking an Offset Press Operator for the third shift. The operator oversees the press and press crew, including the Assistant Pressman and Feeder Operator, while ensuring print quality, production efficiency, and press maintenance. The role is located at JRCI’s Carton Division in Charlotte, North Carolina. J. R. Cole Industries is a locally owned Charlotte-based manufacturer of pressure-sensitive roll labels and folding cartons. Requirements

Previous experience operating printing presses, preferably multi-color presses.
Strong understanding of printing processes and press operations.
Good communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Basic math and reading skills.
Ability to lift 30–50 lbs. regularly.
Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move materials throughout the shift.
Good color perception.
Ability to operate a hand truck or pallet jack.
Willingness to work overtime as needed and maintain reliable attendance.
Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot multi-color printing presses.
Monitor print quality, color accuracy, and production standards.
Perform routine press maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.
Lead and coordinate press crew members, including the Assistant Pressman and Feeder Operator.
Train and assist other pressroom employees.
Work with supervisors and quality control to improve production and resolve issues.
Help reduce waste, improve efficiency, and meet production deadlines.
Follow safety and quality procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
