JOB SUMMARY 50% : Under the direction of the Act 319 Administrator and the director, will help review, process and record revised applications, and update changes to enrolled properties. Assist with the filings related to Act 319 documents. Assist customers at the public counter and print maps for any analysis work as needed. 50%: Review deed information from Recorder of Deeds already imported into 2 software programs to verify and update over 12,000 conveyances per year. Review the prior and new deed for all conveyances to confirm the legal description is correct so the names and mailing addresses on tax bills can be updated in 2 software programs. Review deeds for new subdivisions or combinations. Answering public inquiries regarding deed information and name changes to provide requested information or directing inquiries to the appropriate persons. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position does not supervise other employees, but does work closely with other clerical staff in updating and maintaining current "name changes" in our database system. It reports directly to the Act 319 Administrator. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Research and process revisions to applications and enrolled parcels. Act as a contact person for Clean and Green related inquiries and issues, when the Administrator is not available. Perform clerical duties related to data entry of owner “name changes” into a mass appraisal software system. OTHER SPECIFIC TASKS OR DUTIES Daily workload may be split between providing continuous support to the Act 319 Administrator, and general clerical duties related to the verification of deed changes as it relates to “name changes”. Carry out developed policies in coordination with the Act 319 Administrator, focusing on collecting new rural enterprise permit reviews, utilizing field checks and direct customer contact as required. Assist with rollback calculations. If time permits, may include training of data entry in order to assist with general data entry of appraisal field work.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge or course work in real estate, agriculture, geography, GIS, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of local taxation, digital map making (GIS), and/or agricultural productivity/economic issues.
  • Knowledge of the local farming community and associated issues.
