About The Position

This position provides clerical support for the administrative and operational activities at the Health Services Division through completion of activities which support the functions of the electronic health records (EHR) project and business operations. The role involves ensuring accuracy of health record maintenance and filing, timely communication, compilation of statistics and reports, and records management. The position requires creating, promoting, and maintaining a culturally competent and diverse work environment, contributing to a positive teamwork environment, and providing service to diverse populations with a commitment to respecting individuality and diverse cultural backgrounds. It also involves applying and explaining laws, rules, policies, and procedures, problem-solving, acting as a dependable resource, staying organized, working independently, managing work with little oversight, anticipating needs, and maintaining confidentiality of records. Understanding of metrics and/or key performance indicators is also necessary. The role involves processing and editing documents using Microsoft Office and Adobe applications, completing documentation using EHR software, and scanning records into the EHR. Excellent customer service skills, self-motivation, and the ability to meet firm deadlines with frequent interruptions are essential.

Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.
  • An associate degree in any field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to lift and transfer boxes and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Experience with records and information management, including reviewing records or documents for accuracy and completeness within established criteria.
  • Experience performing data entry, contacting customers to obtain information, and tracking and compiling documents.
  • Experience with problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Experience working productively with many priorities, competing deadlines, and assignments.
  • Proficiency and accuracy while entering information into computer systems.
  • Quality control while working with physical and electronic records.
  • Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to provide an acceptable alternative method of transportation.
  • Within three days of hire, applicants will be required to complete an I-9 and confirm authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, and tracking or file management software.
  • Experience using an EHR.
