About The Position

Position is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Carries out Physician orders including but not limited to assisting with procedures, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, taking patient calls, cleaning and stocking exam rooms, calling in prescriptions, coordinating supply levels, pre-certifying patients medical services, and assisting the physician with all other patient care as requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina
  • Current CPR certification
  • Basic first aid knowledge

  • Communicating information to all ages (Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric)
  • Responsiveness to all patients and office staff requests and needs
  • Performance of duties assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an emergency
  • Communication via phone, correspondence, or personal meetings
  • Scheduling referrals, appointments, ancillaries, surgeries, and hospital admissions
  • Medical records documentation, including chart maintenance, filing, and pulling reports
  • Handling of lab specimens, including collection and processing
  • Medication management (Intravenously, IV Push, Subcutaneously, Intramuscular, Intradermal, Orally, Topical, Suppository, Sublingual, Inhalants)
  • Storage and handling of medications
  • Ordering and maintaining supply levels
  • Exam room preparation and maintenance
  • Conducting patient interviews
  • Chaperoning and assisting patients as needed
  • Triage (by telephone or in person)
  • Implementing physician orders
  • Patient education
  • Results reporting
  • Clinical documentation
  • Operation and responsibility for equipment, including routine maintenance, ordering of supplies, log sheets, and cleaning
  • In-service/Education, including certification/licensure, competency, department orientation, and annual training
  • Stocking and maintaining levels of samples, pharmacy items, Mayday equipment, oxygen, and instruments
  • Cleaning and sterilization of equipment and instruments
  • Precertification/Authorization
  • Coding (E & M / Basic Visits, Office Procedures/ Complex Visits, Surgeries, Hospital Services)
  • Statistical reports
  • Accounts Payable
  • Payroll
  • Performing all other duties as assigned
