About The Position

Easterly Government Properties, Inc., a REIT focused on Class A commercial properties leased to U.S. Government agencies, seeks an energetic, organized, and highly motivated individual for a temporary, part-time role. This position will provide coverage during an employee's maternity leave, expected from October 2026 through February 2027. The role involves managing office operations, providing administrative support, and contributing to the organization's productivity. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent judgment, strong administrative, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. The position requires in-person work three days a week, with remote options on Thursdays and Fridays, and may occasionally require work outside core business hours. This is a temporary assignment to provide coverage during an employee's maternity leave.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic achievement in English or Business preferred
  • At least 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Emotional maturity and strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills and sound judgement
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • A self-starter with the tenacity toward meeting deadlines, with a strong sense of urgency and good self-management discipline
  • A mature, confident team player who adapts to change and remains calm under pressure
  • Candidates must have strong ethical character, be intellectually curious, and have a sense of humor

Responsibilities

  • Manage telephone calls, inquiries, and requests
  • Maintain office inventory and order office and kitchen supplies as needed
  • Coordinate recurring maintenance with vendors for kitchen equipment
  • Maintain physical appearance and organization of the office
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence to appropriate departments
  • Assist with planning of office activities, volunteer outings, and any other company organized events
  • Manage file system for both electronic and hardcopy documents
  • Maintain vendor relationships
  • Interface with building management to maintain the Company’s current office space
  • Coordinate travel and accommodations in a consistent and proactive manner
  • Coordinate and make preparations for meetings
  • Allocate and review monthly corporate credit card account activity
  • Assist with management team’s expense reports
