About The Position

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting an Office Coordinator for our quarry plant, based in Little Narrows, Nova Scotia. It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a quarry and shipping operation within a large corporation. Under the guidance of the Shared Services Administrator Supervisor, the Office Coordinator is responsible for the following:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 1 year of business/administrative experience
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing business conditions to support the needs of the plant
  • Proven organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and time demands
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail oriented and eager to learn
  • Able to interact and work with employees at all levels
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Must be a people and results-oriented individual who incorporates and emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects of the daily work environment

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, or accounting is considered an asset
  • Oracle experience is considered an asset
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and methodology is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing payroll on a weekly basis
  • Assist with compiling routine reports using data from various sources including the weekly condition letter, raw material receipts, bill of materials updates, inventory, and other duties.
  • Assisting the shipping and compliance reports.
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new employees, including new hire paperwork and conducting new hire orientations.
  • Logging and analyzing safety data and reports.
  • Coordinating and planning company events, including service anniversary luncheons, Christmas parties, etc.
  • Managing miscellaneous vendor purchases.
  • Coordinating and managing other vendor related projects with production
  • Set up and coordinate training schedule and book rooms, and reminders for all training requirements including taking customer registration and sending class information.
  • Assisting with the coordination of Safety Activity Rating (SAR) audits and record keeping
  • Checking and distributing mail and restocking office and kitchen supplies and company apparel
  • Providing backup vacation / illness relief for team members of the department
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Plant Manager
  • Assist with Safety Orientations & sign in
  • General office duties including filing, answer phones and greeting visitors
