About The Position

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an Office Coordinator to work at Lincoln Correctional Center in the Field Services office. This position is responsible for performing clerical tasks for the Field Services Representative and the Reentry Counselor. The ideal candidate must be well organized and pay high attention to detail. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business school, OR completion of high school AND two (2) years of related office experience, OR two years of independent business experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of clerical tasks supporting the Field Services Representative in maintaining daily operations.
  • Performs a variety of clerical tasks supporting the Reentry Counselor in maintaining daily operations.
  • Responds to inquiries of a non-technical nature to individuals in custody and other visitors or callers to the facility.
  • Serves as back up to the Grievance Coordinator (Office Coordinator).
  • Provides support services to the Clinical Services department to ensure efficiency and accuracy of work.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
