About The Position

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an Office Assistant to work at Menard Correctional Center. This position is responsible for keyboarding a variety of material, answering calls, maintaining files, and assisting Accountant staff with basic clerical support functions. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 35 words per minute.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Enters data into Offender 360 (O360).
  • Researches individual in custody file that is transferred into the facility.
  • Retrieves and prints adjustment committee reports from the disciplinary tracking system and distributes to appropriate party.
  • Enters data regarding DNA information, emergency contacts, offense dates from statement of facts.
  • Performs minor maintenance work on terminals and printer.
  • Discharges back jackets and mandatory sentence release files from O360.
  • Keyboards a variety of difficult material.
  • Processes subpoenas and court orders by copying and logging files.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
