About The Position

Western Illinois Correctional Center is looking to hire an Office Associate for their Health Care Unit. The ideal candidate is an individual who can multitask and prioritize daily duties. The candidate will assist the Health Care Unit Administrator with organization of annual projects such as the Annual Governing Body Meeting, the Annual TB Clinic, and the Annual Flu Clinic. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Composes and keyboards letters and memoranda containing legal and medical terminology where an understanding is required to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Maintains the annual/request reclassification documents, Disciplinary, and transfer vote sheets.
  • Serves as receptionist for the Clinical Services Unit.
  • Monitors filing of office records, personnel, and tickler correspondence.
  • Reads, sorts, and delivers incoming mail delivered to the Clinical Services Unit.
  • Serves as a backup to the Visitor Coordinator.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
