Office Assistant

ParetoSan Francisco, CA
$30 - $30Onsite

About The Position

The office runs well because someone owns it. That's this role. You'll own the physical experience of Pareto's San Francisco office: common areas, the kitchen, supplies, deliveries, and the small things that add up fast when nobody is watching them. You'll work alongside the operations team and, in practice, with everyone who walks through the door. Good looks like a space nobody has to think about. The kitchen is stocked before anyone notices it's low, the broken chair is gone before someone reports it, and the coffee is ready before the first person arrives. You won't be managing a team or an office budget. You'll be the person who owns whether the space works, and within a few months, the person people go to when something needs handling.

Requirements

  • You show up consistently. The team depends on the space being ready, and that starts with you being there when you said you would.
  • You notice things. A low paper towel roll, a wobbly chair, a package sitting in the lobby. You catch it before someone else has to mention it.
  • You work well on your own. Most of this role is self-directed. You don't need a daily checklist to know what needs doing.
  • You handle logistics without drama. Packages, vendors, deliveries, the occasional run across the city. Small stuff, and it has to actually get done.
  • You're comfortable around people. The office is busy and social. That suits you.
  • You want something steady. This isn't a gap-filler. We're looking for someone who plans to stick around.

Nice To Haves

  • Apply even if you don't match every line above. We care more about how you think than about a clean résumé.

Responsibilities

  • The office environment. Common areas clean and organized, packages and deliveries handled, maintenance issues caught while they're still small.
  • Kitchen and coffee station. Yours end to end. Inventory, restocking, appliances, daily organization. The coffee station is ready before the team is.
  • Supply levels. Regular inventory walkthroughs, with restock requests going in early rather than the day something runs out.
  • Errands. Occasional off-site runs for mail, packages, and local pickups.
  • Office events. Support for team gatherings and in-office events when they come up.

Benefits

  • This is part-time work that's flexible, consistent, and visibly useful.
