About The Position

The Office of Belonging is seeking a student employee to serve as an Office Assistant for the Academic Year 26/27. This role involves maintaining knowledge of office activities to connect community members with services, monitoring and responding to communications, providing administrative support, assisting with document and presentation preparation, maintaining confidentiality, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Quinnipiac-related technologies (i.e. MyQ, SharePoint, website).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Prior participation in an Office of Belonging program (i.e. Bobcat Academy, Commuter Connections, First Generation Support, First Year Immersion, QU Enriching Student Transitions, Pell Student Support, Sawhney Leadership Program, Transfer Connections)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Office of Belonging activities that enables accurate connecting of community members to the appropriate office services, resources, and staff members.
  • Monitor and respond to office communications – including e-mail and telephone – in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support to graduate assistants and professional staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of community and office documents, presentations, and event materials.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support office operations.
