About The Position

The Office of International Education (OIE) is seeking a Work-Study Office Assistant to support its Study Abroad programs and related initiatives. This role involves assisting with event coordination, promoting study abroad opportunities, providing administrative support, and managing communications. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, and eager to contribute to the international education mission of the university.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study funding.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Canva or other graphic design tools.
  • Experience with social media management and content creation.
  • Previous experience in an office environment or customer service role.
  • Interest in international education or study abroad.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of OIE/Study Abroad at campus-wide events, program-specific events, AYCGL events, campus visits, and others as assigned.
  • Promote study abroad to the campus community via word-of-mouth, social media, on-campus outreach efforts, and other marketing initiatives, to include weekly tabling, class visits, and information sessions.
  • Assist the OIE Staff with day-to-day tasks, including campus errands.
  • Coordinate communication, which may include taking calls, responding to emails, and interfacing with visitors to OIE and the AYCGL.
  • Create event flyers and/or promotional materials using Canva.
  • Create social media content and other digital content for OIE initiatives.
  • Maintain an organized filing system of paper and electronic documents.
  • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality.
  • Develop and sustain a level of professionalism among staff, AYCGL leadership, faculty, students, campus visitors, and other campus stakeholders.
