About The Position

Provide clerical support in the Office of International Programs and assists students in a friendly and professional manner. Supports OIP programming including international student orientation, workshops, student activities and special events. Maintain a welcoming presence for students in the Office of International programs. Provide input and suggestions for Office programming and student support. Design print materials and draft communication for the Office. Keep office area clean and organized, organize supplies. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a current or incoming CSS student
  • Federal work study eligibility is required.
  • Desire to work with and for International students on campus.
  • Computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people in a friendly, professional manner

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with US immigration systems and/or experience living and/or studying abroad
  • Ability to start 2 weeks before the start of the Fall semester
  • U.S. Drivers license required with eligibility to be a college-approved driver
  • Experience with MS Office, Google Workspace and SCT/Banner or similar integrated software system

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support in the Office of International programs and assists students in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Supports OIP programming including international student orientation, workshops, student activities and special events.
  • Maintain a welcoming presence for students in the Office of International programs
  • General office support, such as filing, record keeping, etc.
  • Answer phones and transfer to appropriate staff member, distribute phone and email messages and student inquiries
  • Complete errands around campus and in Duluth
  • Assist with web page and social media maintenance
  • Support Office of International Programs programming (international student orientation, student activities, education abroad fair, workshops, etc)
  • Provide input and suggestions for Office programming and student support
  • Design print materials and draft communication for the Office
  • Keep office area clean and organized, organize supplies
  • Other duties as assigned
