About The Position

The Office of Belonging is seeking a student employee for the role of Office Assistant for the Academic Year 26/27. This position is designated for Federal Work-Study students and involves providing administrative support, managing communications, and assisting with various office operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Quinnipiac-related technologies (i.e. MyQ, SharePoint, website).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior participation in an Office of Belonging program (i.e. Bobcat Academy, Commuter Connections, First Generation Support, First Year Immersion, QU Enriching Student Transitions, Pell Student Support, Sawhney Leadership Program, Transfer Connections).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Office of Belonging activities to accurately connect community members to appropriate office services, resources, and staff.
  • Monitor and respond to office communications, including email and telephone, professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support to graduate assistants and professional staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of community and office documents, presentations, and event materials.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support office operations.
