About The Position

A Non-Merit vacancy exists in Clinical Services/Center Based Services, located at the Eastern Family Resource Center. Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan. A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below. Current and future vacancies occurring in any Office or Department of Baltimore County General Government may be filled from the list of eligible applicants. Requirements

  • Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent
  • One year typing, word processing, or secretarial experience.
  • Applicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position.
  • Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study.
  • Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Performs word processing, typing, and other clerical duties in support of an office.
  • Responsible for in person office assistant duties at Eastern Family Resource Center.
  • Process incoming communications either by telephone, email, or walk-in, for scheduling patient appointments.
  • Verify returning patient information for accuracy.
  • Prepares patient charts with necessary paperwork.
  • Send out upcoming appointment information to patients.
  • Collects insurance card information and verifies eligibility when applicable.
  • Processes patient charts following completion of appointment.
  • Scans required document into Current EMR.
  • Collect payments from patients, when applicable.
  • Determines release of information according to established procedures and confidentiality.
  • Initiates the process of purging and updating files.
  • Greets and Directs patients and visitors.
  • Collects information regarding more complex inquiries and refers to appropriate staff for follow-up as necessary.
  • Operates office machinery such as photocopiers, calculators, scanners and printers.
  • Maintains simple financial and statistical records.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
