  • Comfortable interacting with the public and state correspondents.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle or approved transportation method.
  • Valid driver's license and good standing driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and retrieve documents from various state agencies, offices, and institutions in downtown Austin.
  • Coordinate mail deliveries among various couriers (USPS, FedEx, UPS).
  • Assist the Administrative Service Manager with in-office clerical tasks.
  • Plan and follow efficient routes for deliveries and retrievals.
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Meter outgoing mail, including certified mailers and parcels.
  • Assist with outgoing bulk-mail projects.
  • Track, maintain, and distribute office supplies.
  • Assist with setting up new hire workstations.
  • Engage in kitchen and breakroom maintenance.
  • Manage a computer-based multiline switchboard phone system.
  • Answer incoming calls courteously and professionally.
  • Forward calls to the appropriate employee or department.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with clients, correspondents, and coworkers.
  • Perform additional clerical tasks as needed.
