About The Position

This position provides administrative support for the Office of Admissions, focusing on front desk operations and assisting Admissions staff. The role involves interacting with prospective students, staff, and faculty, and maintaining various documents and spreadsheets. As part of a faith-driven community, employees are expected to serve as ministers of the gospel, discipling students and leading people to Christ.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • General knowledge of campus activities, programs, and organizations
  • Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community
  • Independent & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
  • Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills. Able to promote Northwestern in a compelling and engaging manner.
  • Punctuality & Initiative: Prompt, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting responsibilities.
  • Background Check: Must pass background check as a condition of employment.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general administrative duties
  • File and/or update various documents and spreadsheets
  • Contact prospective students and receive and direct phone calls and emails
  • Communicate with and help staff, faculty, and/or students needing assistance
  • Attend required training sessions
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
