About The Position

The Community Corrections Division is seeking to fill two full-time, permanent Office Assistant (OA3) vacancies within the Community Corrections Division. Both positions work for the Tukwila Field Unit located at the Seattle Community Justice Center (CJC), 1550 4th Ave S. Seattle, WA 98134. Under general supervision from the Community Corrections Supervisor (CCS), the OA3s will perform file management and routine, advanced clerical support tasks for the CCS, Community Corrections Officers (CCOs), and associated units. Working independently, you will perform a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments and perform duties involved with working at the reception desk. The work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six months of clerical and/or customer service experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must possess and maintain an unrestricted driver's license valid in the state of Washington.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds.
  • Ability to navigate internal databases.
  • Ability to proofread written material and identify and correct errors in sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly to staff, supervised individuals, public, and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • One position will provide support for the Special Needs Unit (SNU), the other will provide support on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front desk reception.
  • Greet and direct clients, general public, and/or stakeholders to the appropriate staff.
  • Manage a multi-line phone system.
  • Ensure the public entry door is opened at 8:00 am and closed and locked at 5:00 pm.
  • Receive equipment and supplies from vendors.
  • Manage and maintain electronic and physical files.
  • Database entry and retrieval from various systems, such as OMNI (Offender Management Network Information) and OnBase.
  • Archive closed DOC field files.
  • Provide general office support for the CCS and CCOs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
