About The Position

Solarado Roofing & Solar is a fast-growing roofing and solar contractor serving residential and commercial customers throughout Northern California. We specialize in roofing, solar energy systems, battery storage, and public works projects. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Office Administrator & Permit Technician to support our operations, permitting, and customer service teams. The Office Administrator & Permit Technician is responsible for coordinating permits, inspections, utility applications, customer communications, administrative support, and project documentation. This role serves as a key connection between customers, jurisdictions, utility companies, project managers, and field personnel to ensure projects move efficiently from contract to completion.

Requirements

  • Previous administrative, permitting, construction, or project coordination experience preferred.
  • Experience with roofing, solar, construction, or utility permitting is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications for roofing, solar, and battery storage projects.
  • Coordinate with city, county, and state agencies to obtain approvals.
  • Track permit statuses and maintain permit logs.
  • Schedule inspections and communicate inspection requirements to field teams.
  • Assist with utility interconnection applications including PG&E and SMUD.
  • Maintain project documentation and compliance records.
  • Answer phones and assist customers with project updates.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, email correspondence, and office communications.
  • Maintain customer files and digital records.
  • Prepare contracts, proposals, and project documents.
  • Assist with data entry and CRM management.
  • Support management with reports, scheduling, and administrative projects.
  • Communicate with homeowners, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Schedule appointments, inspections, and project milestones.
  • Track project progress and update internal systems.
  • Assist with material ordering and vendor coordination when needed.
  • Ensure all required documents are collected before project commencement.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries.
  • Help resolve scheduling and documentation issues.
  • Maintain professionalism and positive communication with clients and partners.
