About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior. Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC) is seeking candidates for an Offender Information Supervisor. This position is responsible for the supervision of staff in the offender records office at EKCC.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience in management, administration, legal, paralegal, or offender records.
  • Administrative, management, legal, paralegal, law enforcement, or offender records experience will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise offender information staff.
  • Compile reports to assign judgments to the specialists and assign daily work.
  • Maintain Controlled Intake Records and institutional records.
  • Process open records requests.
  • Work in systems such as the Kentucky Offender Management System (KOMS), Court-Net, E-Warrants and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry System (SOR).
  • Review inmate records for transfers.
  • Work directly with the Office of the Courts and Court Officials as well as local and State Police.
  • Complete sentence calculations.
