About The Position

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Maryland Park Service, is currently accepting applications for a seasonal Off-Road Administrative Assistant at Wolf Den Run State Park in Oakland, Maryland (Garrett County). This position supports the Administrative Officer and Park Ranger in operating and managing the office at Maryland Park Service’s only off-road state park. This is a full-time, 10-month position requiring availability on weekends and holidays. Duties may include operating off-road machines and motor vehicles, working in various weather conditions, and coordinating with external agencies. The incumbent should be familiar with off-road vehicles and the regulations governing their use on public lands. The selected candidate will work closely with the Administrative Officer and may occasionally assist at park headquarters at Herrington Manor State Park.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
  • At least one year of personal or professional experience working in an office setting
  • Proficient use of computer applications
  • Proficient use of Google Sheets
  • Possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland (if assigned duties requiring vehicle operation)
  • Five points or fewer on current driving record (if assigned duties requiring vehicle operation)

  • Issuing licenses through the MD Outdoors licensing system
  • Tracking user group data

  • Monitoring revenue from multiple sources
  • Maintaining spreadsheets
  • Processing invoices
  • Completing corporate card logs
  • Operating off-road machines and motor vehicles
  • Working in various weather conditions
  • Coordinating with external agencies
  • Assisting at park headquarters at Herrington Manor State Park
