OCI Cloud Infrastructure Architect
About The Position
The OCI Cloud Infrastructure Architect/Specialist will provide architecture, engineering, implementation, migration, and operational support for PeopleSoft and its supporting Oracle technologies on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role designs, builds, configures, secures, automates, and supports highly available OCI environments, including PeopleSoft, Oracle WebCenter Content and Imaging Suite, Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Database, and Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE). The consultant will assess the current on-premises environment, develop and implement the target-state OCI architecture, and support migration of application, middleware, database, integration, identity-management, and content-management components to OCI. The work includes configuring OCI compute, storage, networking, load balancing, DNS, identity and access management, security, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery. The consultant will also design, build, and support OKE clusters and containerized workloads. The position implements infrastructure automation using Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, scripting, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. It collaborates with application development, PeopleSoft administration, database, middleware, network, cybersecurity, cloud, and operations teams. Activities include architecture reviews, technical workshops, environment builds, migration testing, production cutovers, disaster recovery exercises, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support. The consultant develops and maintains architecture diagrams, technical designs, migration plans, build procedures, configuration documents, operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-transfer materials. The successful candidate has extensive experience with enterprise OCI environments for mission-critical applications and must be available to support production implementations, cutovers, disaster recovery exercises, and critical incidents outside normal business hours when required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of cloud, infrastructure engineering, or technical architecture experience.
- Minimum of three years of hands-on OCI architecture, engineering, or administration experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, or supporting enterprise OCI environments for mission-critical applications.
- Experience supporting migration of PeopleSoft and Oracle middleware workloads to OCI.
- Strong knowledge of OCI networking, compute, storage, load balancing, IAM, DNS, monitoring, logging, backup, security, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with Oracle WebCenter Content and Imaging, Oracle Identity and Access Management, Oracle SOA Suite, WebLogic Server, Oracle Database, and OKE.
- Strong understanding of VCNs, subnets, DRGs, FastConnect, routing, firewalls, network security groups, DNS, TLS certificates, and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, OKE, ingress, persistent storage, certificates, and secrets management.
- Strong technical knowledge of PeopleSoft, Oracle middleware, OCI networking, Linux, Kubernetes, automation, high availability, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Availability to support production implementations, cutovers, disaster recovery exercises, and critical incidents outside normal business hours when required.
- Proper footwear required to perform tasks in a safe manner.
