About The Position

Oracle is seeking a highly accomplished OCI Cloud Architect to join its North America Cloud Engineering organization in a strategic presales role. The position combines cloud infrastructure expertise, executive engagement, and business acumen to help customers modernize IT environments and accelerate adoption of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The architect serves as a trusted technical advisor to customers, sales teams, and Oracle leadership, guiding strategic opportunities from discovery through technical win and customer adoption. The role engages executives, architects, developers, and operations teams to design cloud solutions for complex business and technical challenges. It influences customer cloud strategies, supports major strategic opportunities, and helps customers realize the value of OCI infrastructure services. The architect also collaborates across Oracle organizations, contributes customer and market insights, and mentors less experienced solution engineers and architects. The ideal candidate has extensive customer-facing cloud architecture or related experience, strong enterprise and public cloud expertise, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, solution engineering, technical consulting, enterprise architecture, or related customer-facing technical roles.
Proven success supporting complex enterprise technology sales cycles and strategic customer engagements.
Deep expertise in public cloud platforms, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, application modernization, and enterprise architecture.
Experience designing and implementing large-scale cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, storage, networking, identity management, security, and operations.
Experience engaging senior executives, including CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, Infrastructure Leaders, and business executives.
Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex technical pursuits involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Strong knowledge of enterprise technology buying cycles and factors influencing customer decisions.
Exceptional communication, presentation, storytelling, and executive engagement skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts in business terms and align solutions with customer outcomes.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence without direct authority.
Passion for customer success and ability to build long-term trusted advisor relationships.

Responsibilities

Partner with sales teams to identify, qualify, and advance strategic OCI opportunities across enterprise and commercial accounts.
Build trusted advisor relationships with executives and customer technical leaders, including CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, Infrastructure Leaders, and Cloud Centers of Excellence.
Lead technical discovery to understand customer objectives, environments, modernization strategies, and cloud adoption initiatives.
Architect and present OCI solutions that meet customer requirements and demonstrate Oracle's technical and business differentiation.
Develop executive presentations, solution architectures, technical proposals, migration strategies, and business value assessments.
Serve as technical lead for strategic pursuits and coordinate cross-functional Oracle resources for complex customer engagements.
Design enterprise-scale cloud architectures across compute, storage, networking, security, containers, databases, AI services, observability, disaster recovery, and multicloud environments.
Lead customer workshops, architecture reviews, proof-of-concepts, technical deep dives, and solution validation.
Help customers evaluate cloud migration, application modernization, and hybrid or multicloud strategies.
Position OCI capabilities, including distributed cloud, sovereign cloud, multicloud partnerships, performance, and security.
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, Consulting, and Partner organizations to support customer outcomes.
Provide competitive intelligence, market insights, and customer feedback to influence product strategy and go-to-market initiatives.
Mentor less experienced solution engineers and architects and promote technical excellence.
Create reusable technical assets, reference architectures, best practices, and enablement content to improve organizational effectiveness.
