Oracle•United States,
•$147,300 - $243,800

About The Position

Oracle is seeking a Cloud Architect with direct financial services experience for its OCI Financial Services Cloud Engineering team in North America. The role helps banks, investment firms, insurers, payments companies, and financial technology providers evaluate and adopt Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, connecting cloud architecture to business outcomes such as faster research and risk calculations, resilient transaction processing, modern data platforms, and governed AI. Architectures must account for existing technology estates, including on-premises systems and other public clouds. This strategic presales role leads technical customer engagements from discovery through architecture, hands-on validation, and technical decision-making, and partners through adoption and operational handoff. The architect works with executives, application owners, platform engineers, and security and risk teams to define success and demonstrate whether proposed solutions meet customer needs. The role requires 10 or more years of relevant experience, including direct financial services experience or technology delivery to financial institutions. Candidates should bring expertise in at least one financial services domain and strong architecture and practical engineering skills on OCI or another major cloud platform. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience is preferred; relevant cloud certifications are a plus. The stated U.S. hiring range is $147,300 to $243,800 per annum. The role may be eligible for equity and compensation deferral, and is eligible for commission with an estimated 70/30 pay mix. Oracle describes a comprehensive benefits package, including insurance, retirement, paid leave, parental leave, adoption assistance, and other benefits.

  • Strong architecture and practical engineering skills on OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, with ability to build OCI expertise; experience spanning compute, networking, storage, identity, security, and resilient application or data platforms.
  • Hands-on ability to deploy and troubleshoot cloud environments, use infrastructure as code, and automate with scripting or APIs; ability to investigate application, network, and storage bottlenecks and validate designs with evidence.
  • Experience navigating financial institutions’ architecture reviews, security assessments, change processes, and production-readiness requirements.
  • Understanding of shared responsibility and ability to translate control requirements into technical designs with relevant specialists.

  • Design OCI, hybrid, and multicloud architectures across compute, storage, networking, identity, security, containers, data platforms, and observability, explaining tradeoffs in performance, resilience, operational complexity, and total cost.
  • Build and lead workshops, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and benchmarks using representative workloads and approved data; agree on success criteria and document results, limitations, and customer decisions.
  • Apply financial services context to architecture decisions, including transaction correctness, peak demand, batch deadlines, data entitlements, recovery objectives, and dependencies on legacy and third-party systems.
  • Partner with customer security, risk, compliance, and operations teams on access controls, encryption and key management, data residency, audit evidence, resilience, and third-party technology reviews.
  • Develop technical proposals, infrastructure sizing, bills of materials, migration approaches, and business cases; include software licensing, connectivity, support, and operations in cost comparisons, and validate service availability and capacity with relevant teams.
  • Coordinate OCI specialists, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, Consulting, and partners to resolve blockers and support transition from proof to adoption.
