About The Position

Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Ocean Import Department. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of international logistics and requires a dedicated individual who can manage shipments from origin to final delivery, ensuring all documentation, billing, and accounting activities are handled accurately and on time. The position involves proactive communication with customers and partners, building strong relationships, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent required
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department’s needs
  • Must be able to commute to the city of Hawthorne, CA
  • Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
  • Comfortable working in a professional business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry, documentation, billing, and accounting activities.
  • Track and trace shipments while proactively communicating updates to customers and partners.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and resolving shipment issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, truckers, brokers, and overseas partners.
  • Ensure compliance with customer SOPs, company policies, and government regulations.
  • Meet departmental KPIs and maintain operational excellence through attention to detail and timely execution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and overseas offices to ensure smooth shipment processing and problem resolution.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Complete required training and uphold Expeditors' culture, values, and commitment to integrity.
