This position implements an established treatment plan using appropriate modalities, documents findings of patient progress, and seeks consultation as necessary. The Occupational Therapy Assistant monitors the patient's response to the treatment plan and communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the occupational therapist. This role also provides discharge planning assistance and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs. The assistant may oversee the care provided by therapy 3-Technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.
