Occupational Therapy Assistant PRN
About The Position
Innovate Rehab and Wellness is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a PRN position in a Skilled Nursing Facility in St. Louis, MO. As a COTA, you will support the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services, helping residents regain independence and improve their quality of life. You will provide therapeutic interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, implementing treatment plans, monitoring progress, and educating residents and caregivers. This role involves collaboration with other healthcare professionals and maintaining accurate documentation in the EMR. Requirements
- Associate’s degree from an accredited OTA program
- Current NBCOT certification
- Valid state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Committed to patient-centered care and rehab excellence
Nice To Haves
- SNF or long-term care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans created by the Occupational Therapist
- Provide direct patient care per state and facility guidelines
- Monitor and document resident progress; report changes to the OT
- Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment
- Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and other healthcare staff
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
- Participate in care planning and discharge planning
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and all regulations
