About The Position

Avante at Ocala is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide occupational therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing facility. The assistant supports assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, documentation, and communication, and works under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. This is a per diem (PRN) role in Ocala, Florida. The position requires completing treatment plans designed by the supervising therapist, documenting daily care according to established guidelines, and communicating residents’ responses to treatment to residents, families, and team members. Employment is subject to background screening through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Requirements

Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Successful completion of the National Certification for O.T.A.
Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
Ability to carry out treatment plans as designed by the supervising therapist.
Ability to document daily care according to established guidelines.
Ability to communicate effectively about responses to treatment with residents, family members, and other team members.
0–3 years of long-term care experience.
Completion of required AHCA Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse screening.
