Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
About The Position
Silver Lake Hospital is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to support long-term acute care patients in improving their daily living activities. The hospital provides advanced, focused care for patients who have not responded to short-term treatment in a traditional general hospital; the average LTACH stay is 25 days. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant administers treatment plans in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. The position provides direct care to adult and geriatric patients and contributes to program development, quality improvement, program assessment, and departmental policy and procedure development.
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an ACOTE-accredited program.
- Current New Jersey state OTA license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- 1–3 years of hospital OTA experience preferred.
- Experience with tracheas and ventilators preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and guidelines.
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients.
- Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and program assessment.
- Contribute to departmental policy and procedure development.
