About The Position

The Occupational Therapy Assistant helps return patients to optimal physical function and supports the achievement of patient, physician, and therapy goals in a skilled nursing facility. Under the supervision of the OT and DOR, the assistant instructs patients on maintaining their achieved level of function after discharge through education, an independent exercise program, and appropriate activity modification.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college.
• Current and valid OTA license granted by the state of employment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate service delivery software and electronic health record software.

Responsibilities

• Help patients return to optimal physical function and facilitate achievement of patient, physician, and therapy goals in a skilled nursing facility.
• Under the supervision of the OT and DOR, educate patients on maintaining their achieved level of function after discharge.
• Instruct patients in independent exercise programs and appropriate activity modification.
