About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Acute Care team. This full-time position is based at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a 815-bed, Magnet-designated hospital serving the Ft. Worth community since 1930. You will be part of a supportive team of over 40 Occupational Therapists in an acute care trauma hospital, focusing on inpatient care. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care within a supportive team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth. Texas Health Ft. Worth is recognized as the only Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center in Fort Worth and a Level 1 Trauma center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
  • No Experience required – new grads are welcome!
  • OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
  • Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
  • Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
  • Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
