About The Position

Occupational Therapist (OT) PRN. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104. Therapy Services. Occupational Therapist (OT) PRN. Supporting the 815-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital that has served the Ft. Worth and surrounding community since 1930. Supportive team of over 40 Occupational Therapists in an acute care trauma hospital – focus on inpatient. Assist with splinting and wound care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required
  • No Experience required – new grads are welcome!
  • OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem-solving ability; Ability to teach others.
  • Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 shifts per quarter required with 1 weekend day per quarter (every 3 months) and 1 holiday per year (Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Juneteenth, New Year’s) - bid for holiday

Responsibilities

  • Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
  • Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
  • Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
  • Assist with splinting and wound care.
