About The Position

Select Medical Rehabilitation - Palm Beach is hiring a per diem Occupational Therapist at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital housed inside Select Specialty Hospital - Palm Beach. The hospital provides care for individuals facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas.

The Occupational Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction. The role includes directing discipline-specific therapy services, designing functional treatment programs to support patients’ return to community activities, and educating patients, families, students, coworkers, and oneself. Other professional duties related to patient care, therapy services, and program delivery are also performed. Compensation is $55 per hour.

Requirements

• Current and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for state licensure.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with patient needs and physician direction.
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
• Design functional treatment programs that support an effective return to community activities.
• Educate patients, families, students, coworkers, and oneself.
• Perform other professional duties associated with patient care, discipline-specific therapy services, and program delivery.
