About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Occupational Therapist provides compassionate treatment to patients during recovery. This is a per-diem/PRN position in Omaha, Nebraska, with no weekends, paying $55.00 per hour. The hospital offers an extensive orientation and the possibility of future full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for a 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours during their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) and occupational therapy (OT) and certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
