About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Occupational Therapists provide compassionate treatment and support patients throughout this recovery process. This per diem role is based in Jackson, Mississippi, with shifts picked up as needed Monday through Friday. An extensive orientation program supports a smooth transition into the hospital setting, and strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours during their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certified BLS or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) and occupational therapy and COTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
