Occupational Therapist - Part Time
About The Position
Westside is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to work with pediatric clients at its Shorewood Clinic in Shorewood, Illinois. The therapist will assess clients’ needs, identify and implement therapeutic interventions, and support families in carrying treatment strategies into daily life. The role offers opportunities to develop expertise in areas such as Sensory Integration Therapy, Feeding Therapy, and Pediatric Mental Health, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team that includes Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Clinical Counselors, and ABA professionals. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and/or Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The stated hourly salary range is $55.00–$70.00, based on skills and experience.
Requirements
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited occupational therapy program.
- Successfully pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Occupational therapy licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in Illinois.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative spirit and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Passion for working with a neurodiverse pediatric population.
- Creative mindset for making sessions enjoyable for pediatric clients.
Responsibilities
- Assess clients for adaptations and determine when special equipment is necessary.
- Identify and implement therapeutic interventions to develop clients’ fine motor skills, cognition, language skills, self-care skills, regulation, and other abilities.
- Support and guide clients’ families so they can foster the behaviors and practices used in treatment.
