About The Position

An Occupational Therapist at Munson Healthcare seeks to maximize a patient's functional independence and safety in the home environment. The occupational therapist is required to complete a thorough assessment for each patient relating to their functional status, activities of daily living, coordination, home assessment and other needs as determined by their medical condition. An individualized plan of care is developed and revised for each patient as appropriate to their rehabilitative needs. Teaching compensatory strategies, caregiver training, implementing adaptive equipment and utilizing sensory integration techniques are a few of the methods regularly utilized by the occupational therapist to support patients in meeting their goals. The occupational therapist actively collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to improve the lives of our patients, families and their communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association and the American Medical Association.
  • Current registration by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board or eligibility for immediate registration.
  • Current registration with the State of Michigan.
  • One year of clinical experience required.
  • Possess current Michigan motor vehicle license.
  • Ability to drive a car.
  • Insured vehicle capable of transport to patient homes or other offices under various weather conditions.
  • Employees must be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
  • Employees must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
