About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Occupational Therapist provides compassionate treatment to patients and helps support their recovery. This is a per diem, as-needed position in Jackson, Mississippi, with shifts available Monday through Friday. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and notes that strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for 401(k) participation after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants, as well as occupational therapy and COTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
