About The Position
HCA Florida Capital Hospital is hiring an Occupational Therapist on a PRN, per diem, as-needed basis. Occupational Therapists help patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. In keeping with HCA Healthcare’s mission to care for and improve human life, the therapist delivers compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to patients’ goals and abilities. The therapist works with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to evaluate patients, create individualized care plans, and provide hands-on treatment throughout recovery. The position also involves monitoring outcomes, educating patients and families, documenting care, supporting safe transitions, and providing guidance to therapy assistants or students. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs and develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
- Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Complete thorough, timely documentation reflecting quality outcomes.
- Educate patients and families to support understanding, confidence, and engagement during recovery and beyond.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to support transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
- Provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
