About The Position

UF Health Rehabilitation Hospital - North, affiliated with Select Medical, is seeking a per diem Occupational Therapist for its inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. The hospital provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas.

The Occupational Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction. The role includes directing discipline-specific therapy services, designing functional treatment programs to support patients’ return to community activities, and educating patients, families, students, coworkers, and oneself. The position may offer a path to potential full-time opportunities. An extensive orientation program is provided.

Requirements

• Current and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for state licensure.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with patient needs and physician direction.
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
• Design functional treatment programs that support an effective return to community activities.
• Educate patients, families, students, coworkers, and oneself.
• Perform other professional duties associated with patient care, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and design of program delivery.
