About The Position

Requirements

• Current New York State Occupational Therapy License
• Maintain AOTA guidelines and ethical standards
• Experience working with children with autism

Responsibilities

• Individual treatment for a caseload of 16 students in the Lower School, including two 30-minute sessions per week and 120 minutes per week of lunch consultations and groups.
• Case management of assigned students, including required documentation such as individual and group treatment notes, treatment plans and goals, sensory diets, semi-annual and annual progress reports, transition portfolio, transition plan surveys, and student discharge reports.
• Consult with parents, teachers, therapists, transition coordinator, internship coordinator, and other health care professionals to discuss strategies, review treatment plans, coordinate transition services, and suggest activities for optimal student functioning.
• Supervision of occupational therapy fieldwork students and volunteers, including consultation and direct modeling.
• Develop and conduct appropriate staff in-services to enhance professional development.
• Develop and conduct appropriate parent workshops.
• Monitor sensory gym and classroom environment to ensure high-quality service delivery, making, developing, and implementing suggested changes.
• Intakes/screenings of children and families, when requested.
• Assist in conducting program review and quality assurance activities, including treatment notes reviews and satisfaction surveys.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
